In July 2017, in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan, civilians injured during the final stages of the battle for Mosul were treated at the Emergency hospital. As Iraqi forces declared the recapture of the city from ISIS, patients arrived from the front line with injuries caused by explosions, gunfire, and collapsing buildings.
